trying something new

November 24, 2009 7:21 PM By scott

as you know i have a "toy" camera i have been experimenting with. well that camera takes medium format film, which i much larger that regular 35mm. i decided to try something new and rig the camera so i could put in some 35mm black and white. most of them didn't really turn out, which is not abnormal for this camera, but some of them turned out pretty cool.
this is by far my favorite. hillary is so beautiful, and the photo just turned out. i think my camera has a thing for her...and this photo is of her on birthday #22!!!

gotta love the fall!
provo city library
a cool old house i walk by every day on the way to class. it has tons of character. i could take rolls of film on this house. so many different shadows through out the day and interesting things about the house. im sure you'll see more of this place in the coming posts.

once again the red iguana on hillary's birthday:)
i love that girl so much.

second try

October 16, 2009 5:17 PM By scott

here is the latest from my holga.like advertised it is a toy camera and i never know whats going to come out! 2/3 of the photos i took didn't even get exposed, so needless to say i'm figuring out my new plastic friend...

this one is by far my favorite.
this picture is taken with a blue flash and a filter, so it looks weird to begin with, but dad you make it even better because you look...well...not right...haha!
you can see that my light leak is in the top left of the photo, but it looks like the sun which makes it interesting because of where the shadows are
this is double exposed, if you look closely you can see my face in the coke cup, even more closely and you see dad and kara.
just an old truck and house
none of these have been edited or anything. these are straight from the camera:)

these are some shots i took while on the mish getting a new visa in Vilnus, Lithuania. i like them and like to post stuff so here you go world!-or at least me and the very very small few that look on occasionally:)
photography is great. i love how it captures just a small piece of time that will never been seen exactly the way the photo is again:) and the way it brings a back so many memories and feelings!

manti

September 16, 2009 6:52 PM By scott , In ,

on august 8, 2009 we went to the manti temple, it was a very special day for hillary (and me). that temple is so amazingly beautiful, these photos don't do much for it.

back to black and whites

well, i haven't used my old pentax for a long time...prob four years or more and so i thought i'd use this roll to figure my camera out again and how things work...i think the results were better than expected...enjoy:)
this one is my favorite...hillary is so cute
one of "my boys" with his boat
this is the other favorite. hill loves it, she told me to take it too...i didn't think it was going to turn out...guess that's why i need her!!
seems to be some good contrast in this photo
cool road and growth
this is the equip. that pentax on the left was used by my grandpa varley. he gave that to me and his camera bag and equipment. these were some of his most beloved possessions and he entrusted me with them! this bag and camera have been on many adventures with him and taken many many beautiful photographs. that camera on the right is mine, i bought it years back at a camera shop in denver. i used ilford HP5 400.
i really like old architecture

i like the texture in this...it turned out nice, even when repeatedly told me, "there are no more pictures here! let's go!" ;)

oh how i love this girl!
so blessed to be near the temple!
i love brick and building for photos
